Dazzle me! was the theme of Venice Design Week Jewelry Selection 2021. The competition is in its eighth edition and every year contemporary jewelry designers develop their ideas by confronting internationally. The theme was a clear exhortation, with an exclamation point, to create a jewel that could surprise and capture the attention of the viewer. It represented a challenge to play with light, colors, reflections from a mirror and with everything that can amaze the observer.

Of the hundreds of projects belonging to 71 artists who sent their works from all over the world, 16 were those that the jury felt had best interpreted and told the values through their jewel. The participants selected for the exhibition at the Ca’ Pisani Deco Hotel are: Miriam Arentz – Germany, Matteo Belardinelli – Italy, Annarita Bianco – Italy, Hairuo Ding – USA, Anna Fanigina – Latvia, Eiko Nakahara – Japan, Paolo Gambarelli – Italy, Martin Grosman – Czech Republic, Lital Mendel – Israel, Soon-in Han – South Korea, Michael Hofmeyer – Italy, Namkyung Lee – South Korea, Stefania Lucchetta – Italia, Andreia Gabriela Popescu – Romania, Jennifer Wells – USA, Métis: Sergio e Stefano Spivach, Giovanna Gavaudam – Italy.
The jury was composed of Maria Rosa Franzin, Associazione Gioiello Contemporaneo AGC, Anna Schetelich, OONA gallery in Berlin, Elena Rizzi, OHMYBLUE gallery in Venice, Roberto Zanon architect and Design professor at Accademia delle Belle Arti, Valeria Accornero, journalist and blogger, Marianna Serandrei, owner of Ca’ Pisani Design Hotel.
The exhibition will be held on the first floor of the charming Ca’ Pisani Deco Hotel located in Dorsoduro 979A, Venice and reachable also by waterbus with stop at Accademia or Zattere. The exhibition will start on 30 September from 2 pm to 7 pm and will end on 24 October 2021, admission is free. The competition was promoted by Venice Design Week with the collaboration of Associazione Gioiello Contemporaneo AGC, Cà Pisani Design Hotel, Autor-Bucharest, OhMyBlue Gallery, Oona Gallery, Bini Gallery, Creativity Objects, 16metriquadri contemporary jewelry, and with the media partnership of GioielloContemporaneo.it and Vicenza Jewellery.
The award is promoted by Venice Design Week that will take place from 9 to 17 October 2021 with the theme DESIGN FOR ALL.
